children who live in the Dominican Republic.
By sharing the profits from events at the El Mocambo in Toronto
and by working with tourist attractions and resorts throughout the Dominican Republic, as well as targeting big corporations
we are able to provide financial support to those in need. Please be sure

We also provide chances and opportunities for these young people to become involved in dance, art and music.

Who is POR AMOR?
POR AMOR is a non-profit humanitarian organization
dedicated to the cultivation of Nature, Knowledge of Self and
Creativity in order to increase healthy, equitable individuals
and communities around the globe.
What We Do?
POR AMOR plays an active role in areas of:
- Promoting the enhancement of individual creativity through
the arts within the community by means of hosting monthly
live musical and poetry shows at El Mocambo and using funds
raised to support various community initiatives.
- establishing partnerships with local and international community
based organizations by means of providing free educational
workshops, helping to provide organizational and financial
support
- advocating environmental consciousness again through educational
workshops and organized community participation in areas like:
garbage pick-up, community gardening, and tree planting, and
- Implementing and maintaining holistic health care and education
specializing in subjects of nutrition and sexual health.
Background
POR AMOR was founded in 2003 as a volunteer
initiative to provide free educational workshops to Integracion
Juvenil, a vocational school in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
for at-risk youth.
Since the successful completion of the
six month volunteer work initiative POR AMOR continues to
support community efforts of development in the Dominican
Republic.
Currently POR AMOR hosts live showcase
events featuring some of Toronto’s most talented performance
artists. The mandate of these shows is to use the collaboration
of artistic talent within Toronto to provide support to the
projects POR AMOR currently sponsors.
At present, POR AMOR provides financial
and organizational support to Micpromna, a community effort
to build a medical facility and educational site for young
pregnant mothers and women as well as Ensenarme-a-Pescar,
a community organization aimed at the enhancement of self
esteem and creativity amongst the youth in the community
